Product Description Winsome
Amazon.com Review Perfect for small kitchens where every space has to serve double duty, Winsome Wood's single-drawer storage cart packs a lot of multi-task potential into its compact dimensions. The roomy top counter offers a large work area with a towel rail on the side for easy access. Just underneath sits a wide drawer for utensils and tools, while two lower doors open to reveal storage space with a shelf. Perched on lockable casters, the solid beechwood cart goes wherever it's needed, then slides away when not in use. The simple, clean style suits any décor and features large handles that are easy to grasp and pull--no matter how busy, cramped, or distracted the chef is! The cart measures 25-1/2 inches wide by 19-1/4 inches deep by 34 inches high. --Kara Karll

Nice, solid kitchen cart August 8, 2010 M. Golson (Nashville, Tn) This is a very solid kitchen cart, made with real wood, except for the flimsy drawer bottom. I only use it for storing my cookbooks, holding a bowl of fruit, and keeping my keys on, but it would be solid enough for food prep. Unfortunately, the directions are all pictorial, and a few verbal reminders about making sure the components are not backwards or upside down when putting the cabinet together would have been useful for me. I had to take the cabinet apart after getting it together because I put a couple of things in oppositely of how the should have been. Luckily, it was pretty easy to disassemble and reassemble correctly, and the extra steps didn't seem to affect the final product.
Solid wood? Sort of... July 25, 2010 Meow Muffin! (New York, NY) First, I was expecting this cart to be constructed of solid wood. The frame is solid wood, so is the top, doors, shelf. However, the sides and back are flimsy laminated particle board. You can actually see it in the picture (under the towel bar). Lame. Lame. Lame.
Second, like another reviewer said, the factory defects do hurt:
The back (flimsy particle board) has two cracks in it - which extend all the way through. Yeah, the particle board is about 1/8" thick. Lame.
One of the pieces of frame had the dowel rod where the screw hole should be. And the screw hole where the dowel rod should be. We had to saw the dowel rod off, and drill a hole in it. Lame.
The frame pieces were cut crooked. One is 1 and 7/8" on one side and 2" on the other.
The doors rub against the frame, and the hinges were all jacked up. One door wouldn't stay closed. We had to take a hammer to the hinge.
Third, the instructions wouldn't be so bad (think book - lots and lots of pieces and instructions) if the pieces were actually labeled with stickers. They are labeled in the instructions. Try to find part "F" when it's not marked - none of them were. The frame pieces all look very similar to each other, and look identical to one another in the instructions. However, they are actually all slightly different from one another. It was awesome to spend forever figuring out what went where, only to discover that one of the pieces was severely defective (mentioned above). All dowels were supposed to be on the same sides. One wasn't.
Where is the quality control?? From all these problems, it's clear to me that there is none. This should have never left the manufacturer.
If you're crafty, have a good amount of tools at your disposal, and about 3 hours to kill constructing a "solid wood" cart, knock yourself out. I do have to say it looks pretty nice now. The price is really good - so I guess you get what you pay for here.
Lookin Good!!!!! July 25, 2010 John Harold Glad I bought it - improves my kitchen appearance, good place for my microwave and storage for my best cook ware.
excellent products June 7, 2010 Paul Hersh (San Francisco) These Winsome items are well made, good looking and worth every penny. Perfect base for my 20 gallon aquarium, and so much better than anything found at a pet store!
...just don't carry it up a step April 21, 2010 J. Elizondo As other reviewers have said... the wood is good quality, specially the top and the front doors. Assembly was very easy although a powered screwdriver with a hex bit will really really help because you have to drive many wood screws, that would be very hard to screw if you do it by hand.
As soon as I finished assembling it, I rolled from my shop to the kitchen. My kitchen is one step up from the rest of the house so I grabbed the table from the top board and raised it up the step, I kind of slid it up because it was too heavy for me to completely lift it from the floor. Well... this was enough to cause it completely disassembled itself!! Seriously, I did not misshandled or banged the table in any way.
Three of the four joints that were pre-assembled by the factory (not the ones joined by the screws I put) broke loose!! Fortunately I have experience with carpintery, so I took it back to my shop and glued the joints back with carpenters glue and reallinged everything back to the original shape.
Also the hinges doors are missaligned preventing the doors to properly close... both doors remain kind of open; you push them flush and they spring back to a semy open position. I will have to remove the hinges (that are factory installed) and bend them a little to allow room for the doors to close flush.
The low price of these item does not justify manufacturing defects of this kind.
